Stade Français Paris (Fra)-Partizani Tiranë
In the first leg of Tirane, Stade Français Paris didn’t present themselves,
so Yugoslav referee in Stadium “Studenti” (in Elbasan avenue of Tirane) proclaimed
Partizani winners for French forfeit. Stade Français – thanks to great
anti-Albanian Soviet influence in European Volleyball Comission - it asked to play in Bucharest,
as a neutral ground, notwithstanding Albania and France had very good diplomatic relations.
Partizani refused, and CEV disqualified Albanians. What a shame! Instead the
sportsmanlike Austrians of OMV Blau-Gelb Vienna play in Tirane without
preposterous pretexts!
