Japan didn`t recognise East Germany and North Korea with their official names in
this moment - DDR and DPRK. So Japan decided not to play the national anthems and
not to rise the national flags. Japan also decided to call DDR and DPRK with the
names East Germany and North Korea. The eastern block countries didn`t agree with
this and decided to not partipate in the tournament.
In 1964 Peru was named as a Host and the tournament had to be played from 12-29.10.1966
